Re: 'Kenya: What Route to Peace' – panel debate at the Royal Commonwealth Society, Wednesday 20 February 2008
Thank you for attending 'Kenya: What Route to Peace', last week at the Commonwealth Club; I hope you enjoyed the event, and found it useful and informative. We felt it was an extremely insightful debate, bringing together excellent speakers to debate key issues, at a crucial time for Kenya. Many thanks to the panel and chair for such interesting presentations, and for bringing to the debate their expertise and understanding of issues affecting Kenya and the route to resolution and rehabilitation. Our thanks also to the audience for their contribution to the creation of a highly participative and wide-ranging debate.
Our notes from 'Kenya: What Route to Peace' are available to download from the RCS's website - http://www.rcsint.org/events - as are our notes from other Public Affairs events in 2008. We also have an audio recording of the Kenya debate available – if you would like me to send you a copy on CD please let me know. If you have not already seen it, here is a link to International Crisis Group's recent report on the situation in Kenya: http://www.crisisgroup.org/Kenyareport
The RCS is committed to continuing to provide a platform for dialogue on Kenya, and is hoping and praying for a swift resolution to the political and humanitarian crisis. If you have any ideas regarding how we can help facilitate dialogue/action on Kenya please do get in touch. I myself will be leaving the RCS on Monday to pursue a career in media, development and human rights in East Africa, so please email publicaffairs@... rather than this address.
