Lynda's response: "Ha, ha, ha. He forgot to include directors. I

(Interesting that you describe Wendkos as Prussian, David. One of
his nicknames was 'Von Wendkos.' He and Lynda had what she amusingly
referred to as "artistic differences" on the set of 'Fear No Evil'.

They worked together again on the 1975 TV-movie, 'Mrs. R - Death
Among Friends.' Lynda played a psychiatrist with absolutely no sense
        of humor.

Last night I attended a tribute to this late great director at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood.  It was a double bill starting with The Mephisto Waltz.  Mephisto by the way is a bizarre film about satanic rituals...an unusual horror film...well directed with very interesting and beautiful photography.  Given the 1971 release date, this was likely filmed shortly after the great Fear No Evil.  Bradford Dillman has a supporting part in Mephisto...an interesting tie-in to Fear No Evil.  I have to check my VHS tape but I think the exterior of Lynda's mother-in-law's Fear No Evil house was also used as Barbara Parkin's Mephisto house.

Paul's son was supposed to introduce the film but did not show up unfortunately.

The real bonus was that the evening started with a 15 minute clip reel showcasing Paul's work.  It included a nice long clip of Lynda in Fear No Evil!  The scene where she gets out of bed, removes the blanket from the mirror, sees her double, kisses Bradford, etc.  I got to see Lynda on the big screen in my favorite Lynda TV movie.  Talk about an incredible and exciting moment in time!

Terrific director. Really enjoyed talking to him. Gave me great info about Fear No Evil. As did the movie's writer/producer Richard Alan Simmons. Wish I could have seen moments from FNE on the big screen, like you did, Tom. Wendkos was very proud of his work on that. Will eventually get that Lynda book done. But right now, very involved with completing the Banacek book project. Executive producer of that was one of Lynda's favorites: the late great George Eckstein. Banacek series theme was by FNE's Billy Goldenberg.

By the way folks, finally got our scanner up and running.  Have been learning how to use that, so, as soon as I get this Banacek thing out of the way, will be scanning some Lynda photos. Got lots and lots and lots of em.

            Jon

P.S. George Eckstein thought very highly of Lynda. He wanted to see her go much further in her career than she did.
