If it is a 12" disc with a rounded edge, then you are going to need a
bigger lathe (unless your 9x30 has a gap bed). If you just need to
turn a 12" radius on the edge of a disk that is smaller than 9" you
can use a drafting compass to make a template, and make a variation
on a ball turner device where the cutter is fixed to a plate that
pivots about a fixed point 12" from the cutter. Hope that gives you
