kanasta vs. kantasta
In VT48:11, in the "Appendix B: Quenya fractions", a word for '1/4' is
_kanasta_, also on page 12; but on page 14, in comparison with the
early Qenya fractions in EQG, the later word for 'quarter, fourth' is
given as _kantasta_, successor of early _kantasto_.
I suppose the right word is _kanasta_.
[You are right -- the form _kantasta_ cited on VT48:14 is in error, the
correct late form being _kanasta_; and it follows that the supposed
similarity proposed between early _kantasto_ and late **_kantasta_ is
also in error. However, the point of the sentence in which this error
occurs remains valid, i.e., that "several fractions in the EQG only differ
from their later counterparts in having _-o_ instead of _-a_ as their final
vowel", including _neldesto_ 3rd, later _neldesta_; _enqesto_ 6th,
later _enquesta_; and _minqesto_ 11th, later _minquesta_. Thanks
for catching this error! -- PHW]
