"One of the great experiences is to take a ride up the lake on one of four steamers operated by British Rail that travel the lake on a regular schedule. One of the ports of call is at Bowness. Once a small fishing village, it is now one of the primary tourist centers in the Lake District and a charming place to headquarter your stay in the area. Just up the hill from Bowness is the town of Windermere, and the two towns offer several antique shops and centers to explore."
"In Judkins' case, it was a modified minivan big enough to hold her motorized wheelchair. The sliding side door opens automatically and a ramp unfolds. Judkins can drive her wheelchair straight up the ramp and into the van, which has no seats in the middle. The driver's seat swivels electronically to face the back of the van so she can slide easily from one chair to another. As she has for her whole life, Judkins drives the van with her left foot. The vehicle has drastically improved the quality of Judkins' life."
