A show of support - NOT a nurse-in! - was held at the New York State
museum this morning and was attended by more than 25 mothers and their
      children.

According to one of the organizers (my dd Abby!) the mothers split
into small groups to view the exhibits, and were followed around by
      reporters.

Another of the organizers (my dd Chana!) was interviewed and asked
about her *rules* for breastfeeding in public. She smiled and pointed
down to her son, Ami, who was nursing, and explained that her rule
was to feed her baby when he was hungry :) The reporter had not
realised they were nursing! At one point a media photographer snapped
her tandem nursing both 16 month old Ami and her 3year old daughter,
Chava, again without realising what they were doing.

Kristin Kelley, the mother who had been originally, humiliated,
attended the event with her children. She walked up to the museum
director and he apologised to her for what had happened. He has not
yet been able to trace the state employee who upset her, but does know
that it was not a museum employee. Many other state employees, who
work nearby, stroll through the museum during their breaks.

There is now a website for Albany, NY breastfeeding mothers, and there
will soon be a Yahoo Group too.
