      Application Details

      Introduction and Background:

I’ve been a member of OWBN since 1997-1998 and have played every aspect of the game. I am one of the Co-founders of Capital Rage (Garou), and was CO HST during its first year. I have been Night Falls CM twice between 2003-2004 and 2005 to 2006,and the Assistant ST in Night Falls between 2001 and 2003, and 2005 to 2006. I am currently a Tremere Secret Societies and House Sub-Coordinator, and have been a Settite Sub-Coordinator. I have played in each of the various different Sects in the game as well. Some of my more notable Characters are Thomas Swain (Gangrel), and Luis Farrington (Tremere).

On another note I have been Roleplaying for almost 26 years, have worked for Electronic Arts Mythic Studios and Games Workshop, and many Brick and Mortar Game Shops. OWBN has been one of my hobbies for these last 16 years, and through it I have met many wonderful friends and had some wonderfully fun times.

Why do I want to run for Gangrel Coordinator? It's pretty simple really. The Gangrel Clan has quite possibly been the best larp experience I have ever been involved in, it has always been and will always be the clan I most identify with.

      Admnistrative Experience:

      Capital Rage CO-HST 2002-2003
      NVA AST 2001-2003, 2005 – 2006
      NVA CM 2003 -2004 , 2005- 2006
      Settite Subcoord 2002-2003
      Tremere Subcoord 2012-2013
      NVA Narrator 1998 to 2013
      Nonclave AST 2000 to 2009

Outside of game I am a Project Manager working on, and managing, several multimillion dollar government contracts that involve dealing with state and local governments, as well as the Washington Metro Area Transit Authority. This includes everything from payroll, to staffing issues, to equipment procurement, and database management. My management skills and eye for detail in the workplace allows me a greater understanding of compromise when it come to getting things done in committees, as I have to adhere to strict deadlines to complete these numerous projects on time.

      Personal Statement:

The Position of Gangrel Coordinator is one I have thought about applying for for several years now. The Gangrel Clan in OWBN has a rich and vibrant history that I have experienced first hand as a PC since 1997. I am of the opinion that the Gangrel Clan especially should be left to their own devices and the Coordinators office should only interact with chronicles and PC’s at the chronicles request. That being said I intend, if elected, to continue the work that Chris Klackring and Brendan Ammerman and the talented and dedicated subcoordinator staff have worked so hard on over the past several years.

Moving Forward with the OWBN Gangrel, and helping to further the traditions of the Clan. These include storytelling, freedom to roam, and a better working communication between the four divisions (Camarilla, Anarch, Sabbat, Independent) within the clan. This is something that the Gangrel as a Clan especially within OWBN have tried to get working for several years now and I believe that it is possible by bringing the various players from each sect together at Regional and National Clan Gathers to trade stories, information and in general be just what they are Gangrel.

I would like to see the Gangrel Antitribu have better representation at theses National and Regional Gathers and to have more of a presence on the Sabbat Gangrel list serve.

I would like to see a greater use of the various Gangrel Subcultures that exist;to help make this possible;I would like to expand the descriptions of the various subcultures to encompass the deviations that the Gangrel of OWBN have taken from Canon, and making those resources available to both the ST and the Player to enhance their role play experience. I would also, if it is not released before elections, continue the work started on the new Gangrel Clan Packet.

I will be working on some starter packages for the new player, to include role playing tips, historical references, and ways to integrate the Gangrel’s bestial nature into their role play and story, these packages will be non-binding tips to aid the Gangrel Player to better develop in genre concepts for their PC’s and stories.

I want to see the PCs drive the genre and future of clan Gangrel, and I will focus on helping facilitate that rather than impede it. To accomplish this I would like to continue to work with the current sub coordinator staff, as many of them have been a part of the team for many years.I however would like to see them concentrate more on regional, clan issues, story and further support the players without the heavy use of NPC’s. It has always been my opinion that players should drive the story and guide the direction of their perspective clan; this is especially true with clan Gangrel and its wealth of OWBN specific history.

One of the issues that I would like to see addressed is the lack of focus on the West Coast and Brazilian Gangrel; I will, if elected, work towards establishing regional Gathers, and clan specific story, that includes these important areas of our organization. I would also like to see a greater inclusion of the West Coast and Brazil in general throughout all aspects of the organization.

One of the biggest issues year in and year out with any coordinator's office is slow response time; and while I understand that busy schedules and personal life often take precedence, I am a huge believer in reasonably fast responses. If elected, I will be keeping to the previous trends established with a 48-72 hour response time as a goal for myself and my staff.

I hope that If elected I am able to repay some of the great and memorable times I have had with many of you throughout the last 16 years.

      Bill Werring

      Home Chronicle:

      Cincinnati, OH: Shadows of Cincinnati

      Application Details

      Introduction and Background:

Howdy all, my name is Bill Werring. I have been involved in OWBN Clan Gangrel for the past 10 years. First 4 as a player and the last 6 as a Gangrel Sub Coord. Along with the Coord at the time, we setup the location for the Ohio Gangrel Events that has turned into one of the most anticipated events every year.

As an “old timer”, I have been roleplaying for over 30 years. It all started just after boot camp in Great Lakes at a game store in Waukegan . When I got to my first Submarine, I started a gaming group that played when we were underway (and the looks we used to get for that…..).

When I transferred to Norfolk in the early 90’s I was introduced to the White Wolf book and have been playing ever since.

      Admnistrative Experience:

Not going into all the games I have run over the year, but within OWBN I have been an HST for 3 years, an AST for 6, CM for a couple years and a Sub Coord for 6.

As a Player (along with other PC’s), setup the area that is now considered the Gangrel Territory in Ohio .

As a Sub Coord, I ran the Ohio Territories (thus the Gangrel Events in Ohio ) and assisted new Gangrel Players understand our genre and help with their backgrounds.

      Personal Statement:

The one clan of all that I have played over the years that I always want to go back to is Gangrel.
Having been involved in the clan for 10 years, I have seen how it has grown over the years thru the good and bad times.

Clan Gangrel are a family of storytellers. Not everyone can step up in front of a group and speak, but I have seen some very shy people in real life, stand up in front of a group and tell their story. This makes it all worth it.

      Goals:

Steps have been started this year with the creation of a new mechanical Gangrel Packet. If it hasn’t been completed by this time, my first goal will be to get it completed in the first month or so.

Secondly is something we just started talking about is a Sub Culture packet. As of now we have Einjhar as a sub culture. There are so many others that can/should be explored. Currently Team Gangrel is working on a North American sub culture. I would like to see others added to enhance the stories that could be told and increase inter clan interactions.
Next would be response times. Team Gangrel has gotten much better in the last few months about delay times for responses. We have “specialist” within the group that will provide the initial responses while keeping the entire team cc’d. This will help Team Gangrel work with our players, Chronicles, and everyone to make things go more smoothly.

Lastly, Having fun, Not only for the players but Team Gangrel as well. There have been a few times over the years where things did not go well. Conflicts have come up. This is a game we all do to have fun

      Introduction and Background:

Hello People! I am Carlos Eduardo, better known as Kadu, and I intend to run for Gangrel Coordinator in 2013. For those who know me, you do not need details, for those who do not know me; I'll try to talk a little bit about me and my proposal below.
About my knowledge of Clan Gangrel, I play actively with Gangrel characters since I started in OWBN in 1999. During these years gained experience with the genre Gangrel in all its forms: Independent, anarch, Camarilla and the Sabbat. And I followed all the plots involving the clan since 1999.

      Admnistrative Experience:

In addition to 14 years of experience as a player, ST, HST and sub-coord anarch, for two consecutive years, I know several other RPG systems. As previously mentioned, in OWBN started as a player and after that I became the PEBN ST , Empire Under Siege; After that I became ST of a chapter Satellite Anarchist in Empire Under Siege; anarchist sub-coordinator and finally the HST chronic Arapiraca Jungle of Stone. Currently still occupying positions of HST, Concil member and sub-coord Brazilian anarch.

      Personal Statement:

“Gangrel Heri, Hodie et Semper” (Yesterday, Today and Forever).
I Play as Gangrel, for over fourteen years, and I've read all material published about this clan.
As narrator exclusive clan Gangrel, in PEBN, my table got to have 12 players from this clan, while no other reached the half of it. Reason simple, when you like of be the storyteller and has the necessary knowledge about the clan, you involve enough players in his narrative, they just invite other friends to have fun together.

      Goals:

I have nothing to complain about Brendam administration, whenever I sent some e-mail, he responded with speed, which is very important. I do not know all the other members of the sub-coord, but do not intend to change this team that created Brendan. I'll list my goals for this administration:
1 – Genre Pack: I want to upgrade the Genre Pack Gangrel, which is very outdated and in need of regulation at several points. Some points could be improved, for example:
A - Include the most interesting stories, told in Gather's, so we know the best stories of our most illustrious players as well as the traditions of the clan in other parts of the world. So is the oral tradition of the clan, and we must create the conditions for these traditions exist.
B - Regulatory some things better "peculiar" that the clan possesses, as Forensight, Enlightened, Shaman; What is currently being used incorrectly.
Ex: Gangrel are cursed creatures, a Shaman who follows a patch or has a low humanity could only contact with the damned spirits, and that all bargaining with spirits should be tough and have a high cost to the vampire. I see today that players can go Umbra more easily than a Garou can use Dons, the spirits teach. That's Absurd!
C - Combos ... It takes too much attention in this part, and regulate in a better way, Gangrel combos.

2 - Agility in response: Another important point for this coordination is the maintenance of response speed. A reasonable time for the first feedback, confirming the view of e-mail, would be 48h. While a definite answer might take 1 to 2 weeks.
3 - Great Gathers: I would like to have Great Gathers at least 1 time per year. These Gathers are part of the Gangrel tradition. Are through these Gathers, that traditions are passed from older to younger, through them is that the reputation of Gangrel is propagated. Through the stories told around the campfire.

      James Sampers

      Home Chronicle:

Cedar Rapids, IA : Five Nights

      Application Details

      Introduction and Background:

Hello everyone. My name is James Sampers and I'm running for the position of Gangrel Coordinator for 2013. Yes, I'm one of the guys that got his application in late due to unforeseen circumstances that I hope will be taken as a lesson learned as so many things are in this organization.

I love the Gangrel Genre and would like to see it continue to grow and flourish in OWbN. I love the work that players of Gangrel have put forth in the past and want to see that level of energy continue into the future. I love the stories that have been told around campfires and the wonderful quirks that many characters have. It's all a part of the Gangrel clan as a whole and I want to provide what support I can to see that grow in OWbN.

      Admnistrative Experience:

I've been playing White Wolf games since they came out back in the early 1990's. I started off with tabletop and was even lucky enough to have one of the credited play testers for Werewolf: The Apocalypse as a Storyteller back then. Later I learned about MET and found a copy of the original full size booklet rules from 1st edition and started a local independent chronicle. After that I ended up traveling around the world while serving in the military including Korea where I was introduced to Kindred of the East and had fun playing that. Finally after returning home in 2000, I found and joined the L'ange Noir chronicle (the only Iowa game in OWbN at the time) and have been playing in the org ever since.

During my time in OWbN, I've started a chronicle and got it into the org ( Cedar Rapids , Iowa , Five Nights) as well as served as its Council Member, been sub-Coord for Malkiavian, Gangrel, and Assamite genres. I was also the Mage Coordinator.

I currently am serving as a Gangrel sub-Coordinator and have been working with the Gangrel Team for over 5 years now. I feel that I have a good grasp of the OWbN specific history concerning the Gangrel Genre as many know it is a very convoluted one.

Oh, and yeah I play that other CCP game known as EVE Online... ;)

      Administrative Experience (Portuguese):

      Eu appologize.

      Personal Statement:

While I was not originally intending to run for this position, that does not lessen the level of commitment I have for it and this organization. If any of you have seen me posting to the ST list recently, then you know that I care about OWbN and will provide that level of effort in all that I do. I admit that I have some ideas of what the Gangrel genre in the org should be like and that some of those things are different from the White Wolf cannon due to the amount of time that our shared story has been in play. But I am also open to other possibilities that can help to invigorate and perpetuate that same shared story that we all love so much.

I also wish to offer my sincere gratitude to the games that offered me their support to run for this position in the last hour. I never would have thought that I ever could have counted on that kind of friendship until now. Thanks.

      Goals:

I plan to continue the level of interaction and cooperation that the Gangrel office has upheld with both the STs and players in the organization.

I will release an updated version of the binding Gangrel Packet to better reflect the current trend of what is seen as appropriate for the organization as a whole.

In addition to the new binding packet I will release a non-binding Gangrel Packet to help players better understand the differences between White Wolf cannon and OWbN Genre as well as serve as a role playing aid.

I will support the Gangrel Clan in OWbN as much as I am able to either in person or through delegation to a sub-Coordinator at regional and national level events where appropriate.

In short I will do my duties as expected and as authorized by the Bylaws of One World by Night.

      Home Chronicle:

      Annapolis, MD: Vitae Aeturnus

      Application Details

      Introduction and Background:

I have been playing in role playing games for most of my life and have especially enjoyed Cyberpunk, D&D and Table Top Vampire. I started playing Vampire the Masquerade LARP in 1992 and have been hooked since then on. When I joined One World by Night in 1997 I found that the networking of the games allowed for more expansive role playing and I gained a greater feel for the game as a whole.

      Admnistrative Experience:

Since 1997 I have been a storyteller on multiple occasions in several area games (Baltimore and SMD) and have served as a narrator for Baltimore , SMD, Winchester and the Nonclave event. I have also been the Council Representative for SMD since 2007.
In org wide positions, I have served as Gangrel Subcoordinator since 2008

      Personal Statement:

The Gangrel clan is a clan of many different flavors and role playing aspects. There are many various subcultures to the clan that can provide an enjoyable and fun experience for most players with the right support from the Gangrel Team. In my years on the Gangrel Team I have seen many great things from the staff, and I think that with the right amount of work and communication we can take that to the next level in the upcoming year. I think that the coordinator and their team should be more of a support staff for the org and assist the players in shaping and moving the genre.
I believe that communication is key as a coordinator. As such, I will strive to have an email response time of 48 hours from either myself or a member of my staff. Obviously, this is not a guarantee as real life happens, but I would like that to be a goal for all members of the team as well as for myself.

      Goals:

There is a Gangrel packet that has been in the works from the previous team, and I would like to see it finished and put up for vote very shortly following elections. There is also a subculture packet in the works. Considering all of the aspects of the Gangrel genre that exist, I feel that some of them are not explored as fully as they could be. I would like to promote all of these various subcultures within the clan to help to further the Gangrel genre and add more depth to the clan as a whole.
There has been a growing demand for Combos Disciplines to be deregulated. The team is looking at many of the combos to lessen the regulation. That does not mean that all combination powers will be open to everyone just possibly less restricting.
I want the Gangrel team and players to love the genre and the clan as much as I do. My main goal throughout my term will be to allow the players to have fun with the game and the clan while we further the Gangrel genre.
