2 Meetings Today Saturday May 13

There is a nation wide effort to rebuild Students for a Democratic
      Society, the
      Sixties very democratic/progressive/radical/revolutionary student group.

There are already over 100 chapters, primarily on the East Coast and
Midwest. There are chapters on the West Coast with about half a
dozen in the Greater Los Angeles area. So far the membership is
      small but building.

In this time of one of the most corrupt, regressive government and
corporate structures, there is a vital need for students and youth to
help build a counter movement and help resurrect a strong vital
      student movement.

This will be the second Regional Meeting. It is to help facilitate
communications, exchange ideas about organizing and creating actions.

The current College main semesters will be over soon so it would be
good to get something going before summer

This meeting has been scheduled and announced to occur May 13,
Saturday at the Peace Center, 2 PM. The Peace Center is at 8124 West
3rd St., LA, just west of Creseant Heights, East of La Cienega.

(we might have to delay this meeting a bit to give those that want to
attend both a chance to get to them).

Another meeting was later set at a joint meeting with the Port
Truckers (who shut down the port traffic on May 1) and
MDS (Movement for a Democratic Society, for non-students and such)

At a meeting to meet with the truckers in Banning Park at
      Noon on Saturday, May 13th

Banning Park is in Wilmington ( take the 110 South, get off at Pacific Coast
Highway and go east a couple of blocks. The park is on the corner of Avalon
      and Pacific Coast Highway
