      The Inter-Communal Solidarity Committee (ISC)is holding a fund-raising yard sale over the Memorial Day weekend, Sat. May 25-Mon. May 27. This will benefit Break the Lock, Hood Health, Turning the Tide and other survival/serve-the-people projects. If you have items to donate, call 323-901-4269 to arrange for pick up or drop off over the next 2 weeks.

      Saturday May 18, the Black Riders Liberation Party and others are hosting a "Black Market" featuring live drumming, dance, poetry, performance, fashion, food and vendors. From 11 AM - 5 PM at Chuco's Justice Center, 1137 E. Redondo Blvd., Inglewood (3 blocks west and 1 block north of Florence & Crenshaw in south L.A.).       Sunday, May 19, the ISC is hosting an Inter-Communal Solidarity Day celebration marking the joint birthdays of Malcolm X, Ho Chi Minh, Agusto Cesar Sandino, and Yuri Kochiyama with pot-luck and panel fund-raiser. Panel includes Thandi Chimurenga of Hands Off Assata L.A., Mo Nishida of Asians for Jericho & Mumia, Lawrence Reyes of the Puerto Rican Alliance, the Black Riders Liberation Party and others. 2-5:00 PM at the Left Side Lounge, 1905 Rodeo Rd., (near the Metro Expo Line Western Ave. station). Followed at 5 PM by the monthly general meeting of the Inter-Communal Solidarity Committee.

      Sat. May 25 - Mon. May 27, as noted above, the ISC fundraising yard sale and barbecue will take place. Call 323-901-4269 for info on location or to donate items, or to help staff the fundraiser.
