Chinatown Yards Alliance & other River Folks ---

Plan to come to the FoLAR / Occidental College
Re-Envisioning the LA River event - next Thursday at
Castellar school in Chinatown. Spread the word!

      **NOTICE**UPCOMING RE-ENVISIONING THE L.A. RIVER
      EVENTS**NOTICE**

      The River and the Community:
      The Future of the Cornfields
      Thursday, June 8
      6:45pm-8:45pm*
(time is 15 minutes earlier than previously announced)

      Castelar Elementary School
      840 Yale Street in Chinatown

This event is centered on the future of the highly
sought out parcel of land that borders the L.A. River
in Chinatown-the Cornfields. Amidst many clashing
viewpoints, a team of UCLA urban planning graduate
students will present their findings on the proposed
developments and an evaluation of criteria for
development and the role and participation of the
community in the process. The research of the UCLA
team has implications for this site and more broadly
for other developments. Don't miss this exciting
      event!

        hi joe -

just to say thanks tons again - how wonderful to poke around the river not
blindly but with the person who likely knows the most about it - lots of
things unexpected today, too, like the nature trail, which is always a good
        thing -

hope you had a good ride back - our odes to cars aside, neither jared or i
actually thinks driving is preferable to using bikes and public
        transportation -

        soon -
