      The 1 st Supervisorial District, in cooperation with County Public Works and the Cities of Bell and Cudahy , will be hosting the 9th Annual Los Angeles River Master Plan Earth Day event scheduled for Thursday, May 4, 2006 at 1 0:00 am.  The event will take place at the City of Bell/City of Cudahy boundary where Live Oak Street meets the Los Angeles River .

      The event will begin with speakers at 1 0: 1 5 a.m.  Following the speakers, the students of Ellen Ochoa Learning Center (Grades K, 2, 3, and 4) will begin planting 1 96 shrubs and 22 trees along the Los Angeles River Bikeway from Florence Avenue to Live Oak Street .  The Earth Day event will serve as a groundbreaking for the larger Los Angeles River Riverfront project that stretches through parts of Bell and all of Cudahy .
