FoLAR Managing Director
- Friends of the Los Angeles River is looking for a Managing Director
The major responsibilities of the Managing Director are to fund-raise,
supervise staff and budgets, monitor ongoing issues and represent FoLAR at
important public forums. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work
independently, while communicating effectively with a volunteer board.
Our goal is to raise $250,000 over the coming year and make significant
progress towards financing restricted programs. The Managing Director will
work towards this goal by concentrating on long-term funders and agencies
multi-year efforts. The candidate must demonstrate writing skills, a history
of adhering to grant criteria from a range of funding sources, knowledge of
foundations and government entities that offer grants to environmental
organizations, and the ability to develop information for grants within
timeframes. The candidate will be required to submit examples of previous
grant proposals in which they were the main grant writer.
FoLAR is offering a one-year full-time contract effective immediately at an
annual salary at $55,000 a year. Submit resume and support materials to:
