Hi there all fans of barbershop and a cappella radio.

Rich Taylor here, the host of The "APPLAUSE" Show which eminates from the studios of WVRM Radio in Upper Montclair, NJ evry Thursday evening from 6:30-11:00pm.

For the last several months, we have been using addititional email lists which have been obtained through the various societies.  We have had some discussions about those lists and have decided to delete them from the PLAYLIST POSTING files.  SO, if you have been receiving your information about the show and the playlists just since June, and you want to continue to receive the information about The "APPLAUSE" Show's weekly playlist, please email us at            applause@...        and we will add your name to our distribution list.

The "APPLAUSE" Show has been on the air since 1997, originally concieved and hosted by me since that time on two different radio stations.  Our current home, WVRM Radio 1620am and on the Internet at

was almost knocked entirely off the air by a tremendous lightning bolt approximately 4 weeks ago.  We have repaired the MP3 stream and you can now log on the site and select the "MP3" streaming option.  We have lowered the band width so that even dial ups can hear the great quality of the MP3 stream.
But we are in need of financial help right now.  Our 4 1/2 hour show costs about $175.00 each week, or $9000.00 per year.  We have not had to pull our weight till now, but we need to demonstrate to the station management that our audience appreciates the show, and the chance to hear great barbershop and
a cappella music each week.  If you listen in this week, we will tell you how you can support the show to insure that it doesn't go off the air.  I have never felt the need to say that your support is "critical", but if the show is to stay on the air beyond September 1st, we need that financial support.

Well, now to the great news!!!!  Crossroads, the Mid-Atlantic District Quartet that just finished 2nd at the Buckeye Invitational, will be IN THE STUDIO this Thursday (tomorrow night) and we expect to spend about an hour with them.  They are a very entertaining show quartet and are expected to be in the Finals this year at the MAD Convention in Wildwood in October.  So make sure you tune in and catch their "act" on the show.

Here we go, the Playlist for last Thursday the 15th.  We are continuing our journey through the library playing artists that have submitted material to the show.   We had a number of requests last week and we thank those of you who were monitoring the signal and advising us of how the stream sounded.
