You are receiving this letter because at some time since The "APPLAUSE" Show went on the internet, you have sent us an email, or because you are on the "Playlist" email network for weekly playlists.

On Friday, July 22, a sever storm front moved through the Northern New Jersey region bringing Thunder and Lightning throughout the area.  At around 7:00PM on Friday night, a tremendously powerful lightning bolt struck the building that houses the studios of WVRM Radio, the home of The "APPLAUSE" Show since January of this year.  The lightning exploded the two antennas on the roof and spread the debree some 60 - 100 ft from the building.  It destroyed 2 of the transmitters that carry the station onto the airwaves, and destroyed the IMAC computer that runs the stations operations.  Fortunately the computer that carries the station onto the Internet was not destroyed.

The owners of the station and The "APPLAUSE" Team (TJ Barranger and I) will be meeting this week to assertain the total damages and try and structure a plan to get the atation up and running.  It appears from initial review of documentation, that the damage was not covered by insurance, although that is not `100% certain.

The purpose of this letter is to inform you that we will not be on the air this week.  We hope to have more information to you as soon as we get it.  We ask for your patience as we mire through the problems associated with this devastating situation.  We care about you as listeners, as supporters, but most of all as our friends.  We a proud to be able to bring you the very best of barbershop and acappella music, along with the interviews with special people, the tribute shows to great  people in our societies, and the many live performances in the studio for 4 1/2 hours every Thursday from 6:30-11:00PM.

We encourage you to write to us concerning our subscription program which could lead to WVRM becoming a 100% Barbershop and A Cappella Station.

Thanks again for your support and your prayers.....we will keep you posted.
For TJ Barranger and myself, we remain
      Sincerely
