      presents

      Dance: Creation to Performance

A Grant Program for California Dancemakers

      Open Meetings Announcement

The Dance: Creation to Performance program provides
      grant funds on a
competitive basis to foster artistic excellence among
      a diverse group of
dancemakers and support innovative ways for them to
      share new dance
works with communities throughout the state of
      California. A three-year
initiative funded by The James Irvine Foundation and
      administered by
Dance/USA, the program will award up to 11 grants per
      year from $5,000 -
$20,000 each. Applicants presenting themselves for
      consideration must be
able to demonstrate experience in concert
      choreography, dance/theater,
or traditional dance through video samples. Applicants
      must have
presented at least one new or traditional work to the
      public in each of the
      last three years.

Artists previously funded by Irvine Dance in
      California programs must
have completed their projects and submitted all
      contractual reports to
      be eligible for DCP funding.

Public meetings outlined below will describe the
      program in more
detail. Reservations are required. Program guidelines
      are being mailed to an
extensive California dance list. Additional copies of
      the guidelines
will be available at the meetings, through the Irvine
      Dance in California
office in Los Angeles, and on the Dance/USA website.
      For further
information and to make reservations, please contact
      Program Director Julie
