Subject: [ksurfschool] No Chicken Loop instantaneous AOA control
I have just completed the prototype of a "no chicken loop instantaneous
AOA control" system (let's call it the Chicken System for now).
It should allow a kitesurfer to instantaneously control the AOA of a
kite without the chicken loop (or shackling in). Beside eliminating the
inherent danger of the Chicken Loop (or shackling in), this Chicken
System also has some other security and non-security related benefits
(that are not available with the Chicken Loop nor shackling in)
I should be able to test it tomorrow and see how it works out.
I have a question for the chicken loop users out there: Besides
instantaneous AOA control (which in turn provides depowering,
empowering, wider wind range, etc.), do you use the Chicken Loop for any
other uses? (One other use I can think of is probably lighter bar
pressure for ease of turning the kite?)
P.S., I actually came up with 2 Chicken Systems and will eventually
implement and try them both. This first one is easier and simpler to
implement and to use.
