I tried both very tight binding and loose binding (the same step-in
binding, just tighten up or loosen the ankle straps and the shoe laces)
on my snowboard.
Tight binding is a must for me on the mountain and I guess it is pretty
important for wakeboarding.
However, I don't feel comfortable with tight bindings in kiteboarding
both on snow and water (not mention the clumsiness of full binding on

So on snow, a loosen up binding should be perfect.
And on water, an in-between-solution such as a sandal binding may be

P.P.S., Riding a snowboard is JUST LIKE riding a bi-directional board.
Snow countries (Northern US, Canada and Northern Europe) likely to ride
bi-directional board exclusively in the future and probably the SAME
board for both winter and summer.
P.P.P.S., Off course, I will be still riding my "giant" FOne 230 board
in the summer in 5 knots when everyone else is on the beach!
