I should have mentioned that I was not at all close to the top speed I could
have hit on the ice. I think 50 mph would be very possible with a small
kite, decent wind and ice. I have hit 46 mph in a buggy on a dry lakebed,
and ice/skis is noticably faster in the same wind than lakebed/buggy.
On the other hand, the day I hit 40 on the snow I don't think anything could
have made it much faster on the same surface. I had all the power I could
handle (or maybe just a speck too much), blistering winds, and a small, fast
