For several years now, German comics experience a revival of the classics and an explosion of new talent. Comic stories are published by newspapers, graphic novels get book reviews, comic and manga draw young visitors to book fairs. In Indonesia, comics are part of the pop culture. They renew old myths for our time and comment on everyday life in a poetic and sometimes ironic way. Comic artists find their audience through blogs and facebook.
Which current trends shape the comic scene in Germany and Indonesia? How do comic artists see each other, coming from different graphic and narrative backgrounds?
