      Brother Knights,

The Gumbo Cook-Off is about to commence. Please let us, the officers know if you plan to form a team and we, as tradition has it will help with your food expenses. If you are a Knight who isn't familiar with this event this is a knock down brawl of Gumbo between all of the Louisiana Councils. I have seen the state finals, tasted the wining batch (so so), I have seen the elaborate gumbo pots made from old boat parts, items from the oil and gas fields that resemble train engine boilers... but the winning gumbo doesn't have to do with your Cajun heritage or any of the fancy pots. It comes from making the best gumbo broth as judged by chefs at the Louisiana Culinary School.

So if you think you can hack it, want to join a team, or you need some other Knights to help you, or if you have a team (as many other Knights as you may need) plan on attending this Area event and give it a try. Please see below.
