The diamond knot (ABOK 693)

The method
described to tie the single diamond knot requires the
strands to be tied down temporarily. When such a knot is
to be tied using say 6 or 8 strands it becomes a
little difficult to manipulate the strands. An alteranate
method described below is found to be an easier way
out.

First place each strand over the adjacent strand as is
done while forming a crown knot. However, do not pull
the strands down to complete the crown knot. Each
strand will make a horizontal loop and each end will
point downwards. The formation will resemble different
petals of a flower.Thereafter pass each strand up
through the adjacent loop as is done while forming a wall
knot. This way the number 1 strand would pass over the
number 2 strand downwards and will come up from between
the number 2 and 3 strands. The remaining strands
would have followed likewise. On adjusting the various
strands, one will find that the diamond knot has been
formed.

Please try out and confirm.

Satish Patki
