Group Description

Japanese knitting books offer an incredible source of knitting techniques and patterns.

In this group knitters that are not capable of reading the Japanese language will help each other to use these wonderful Japanse books. Fortunately the Japanese put in a lot of photos and drawings of the way garments are knit, so we can knit from the books, but it is difficult when you are not used to it. We will share our knowledge, information about books and where to order them, exchange ideas and all other aspects of knitting in Japan. And maybe some crochet too......

What you can find here in this group:
- links to blog, bookstores with Japanese knitting books, direct links to favorite knitting books etc
- communication with other knitters about Japanese books, knitting techniques and everything related to Japanese knitting
- you can help eachother when you have problems reading the Japanese patterns
- photos of covers and some pages to give you an idea what the book is about
- polls about our favorite books
- anything else related to Japanese knitting we all think that deserves a place in this group!
- KnitAlong MondNacht (a gorgeous Victorian stole in black yarn or any other colour you like)
- KnitAlong Rakuten Indigo (a lovely and very lacy sleeveless sweater)
- KnitAlong Sampler JP (a sampler made from various lace stitch patterns from Japanese sources)

The KnitAlongs are free te join and have the purpose to create great knitwear ánd learning how to deal with the Japanese patterns.

Of course, Japanese knitters are welcome too. ;-)
