I have only been into Kite Skiing/ surfing for just under a year now and
am still learning heaps! I am very keen to hear from anyone who is
willing to share their thoughts on board design.

I have developed a glass board here with a local board shaper who has
over 35 years of practical experience - a bit of a legend over here on
big waves down south; he's getting a bit old in the tooth now but also
is very excited about the potential of this new sport. I personally
have been very happy with the performance of the board but do not have
too much experience with many alternative designs.

Our board is 1775mm long, 355mm wide, triple glass to take the impact of
landings. We use three G-2 Fin Control Systems.

The board itself is pretty flat with a small amount of rocker in the
front, it has very sharp rails in the rear section and in plan view has
a slight curve over the entire length with most curvature in the front.

We have the front foot strap central on the diagonal just in front of
half length of board with rear strap 400mm from rear along the
      centre-line.

We have found that the best location for the "leg rope" attachment is
front left to avoid "submarining" when the kite is still pulling.

      > > Tell me about your jibe footwork. I noticed in the Wipika video that (in
      > > flat water) you "walk" through the jibe like a windsurfer.

How does one get hold of the video in PAL format?

      Cheers,
      Ian
