Nils selected a wakeboard for fun in the surf, however, the strong backwash from the breaking waves prevented him from starting. He reported to the judges stand for the 10:30 start of the Pro Men Windsurfers. Cory schlogged downwind through the course as the wind was building, then started again by the rock. His 2nd session 5 minutes later was powered by building wind and cheers from the growing crowd. He launched a few big jumps and surfed the waves on his new carbon fiber "Open Ocean custom" board. Half a dozen people on the beach said they want to learn to Kiteski. One guy had just bought a new board and Wipika. Another said she was bored with windsurfing and wanted to get a Kiteski.Josh Angulo won the Windsurf event with slashing off the lip moves and push loops. Sean Aiken was 2nd. Jason Prior took 4th with a spectacular double forward.Day 3; Saturday June 27; Wind: 20-30 kts side-onshore; Waves: 2-3 metersCory started with a 20, then downshifted to the 16 foot kite for a fun session in the surf doing "off the lip" moves and a dry double back loop. Michael Hildreth shot 4 roles of film for Popular Science, Windsurfing and others.Angulo won the Windsurf event again. Stokes made a video.Day 4 cloudy, no wind.Note: this is only a quick summary from a Kiteskier's perspective. Someone (most likely Lars) will write a more proper story. Look for something big with Glenn Dubock photos in an upcoming issue of Wind Tracks and a related story on Kiteskiing by Eden Maxwell coming up in Popular Science.
