Re: Bic boards - anyone try one yet?
- I've got a wipika classic 6'6" (was my learning, now lightwind board)
which is basically the same as the Bic, except for the graphics and
deck pad (the bic has no deck pad) its a direct derivation of the Bic
'pop-out' surfboard, so the beauty of it is you can unscrew the
straps and bingo, you've got a fairly decent surfboard - its a bit
difficult to duck-dive due to the floatation - but its that
floatation that makes it a good lightwind board or
beginner/intermediate board. in high winds it tends to spin out, as
the soft rails are not so easy to dig in and edge. Those same rails
dont make it an upwind charger, but it'll get you there eventually.
It'll take knocks, but you'll notice some pressure dings, (I've
bounced it off rocks and surfed and kitesurfed onto / accross a reef
on seperate occasions when the tide was a little lower than i
thought, and its still going strong) its a little flexible, which I'm
not too sure about, but overall, fair value for money....
