      Registration:

      Dear Kitesurfer

      For the first time on the "LAKE SILVAPLANA" we are organising a Kite- & Fly Surf World Cup lake Silvaplana (St. Moritz).

      The competition has two disciplines:

      - freestyle

      - race

      The main priority for this event should be fun and great action on the water, in the air and a lot of happy people.

      The rules will be as described in the following. The judges decission will be on two impressions, technical and execution. The competitors have to be abel at least to make a turn and a jump. Each competitor is invited to the "Grison Dinner" at monday evening.

      There will be a classification for:

      - overall (freestyle & race)

      - freestyle

      - race

      Event rules

       

      1. General

      1.1 Insurance

      Insurance is at any competitors own responsability. The organiser is not liable for any material damages or injuries.

      1.2 Sponsorlycras, Sponsorstickers, and press activities

      All competitors have to wear the offical event lycras and must be present at the event site during the event for interviews and press activities from 10am to 5pm. All pictures and videos taken during the event can be used unlimited. Event sticker of the sponsors have to be placed on the body.

      1.3 Kites and Boards

      The size and material of the kites and boards are in your decisson. The equipment has to be in a good condition and safety.

      2. Selection

      The minimum ability for pilot is a jump an a turn. The freestyle competition is an elimination between two competitors. The race competition is an elimination between six competitors, the first and secound pilot is in the next round. If there is no final result, 75 % of the prize-money will be divided by the first competitors.

      3. Judgement

      The heats will be judged by the official jury, which is announced at the notice board and the decisions of the jury are irrevocable. The jury will use judges forms for their decisions. The jury will give two notes, one in technique and one in execution. Most important is the overall impression and a fluent execution with lots of variations. The pilots have five minuts time for the freestyle competition. Maneuvers should be done with speed, do not repeat the same maneuvers more than 2 or 3 times – that will not help. The jury consist of 5 judges, the organisation commettee decide who is judge. The highest and the lowest score are cancelled, only the 3 middle results count.

      4. Heats

      4.1 General

      All competitors has to wear the number of the event visible on the body to make them recognizable. (us decided by the organizing commitee)

      4.2 Number of competitors per heat and duration of heats

      Freestyle heats 2 competitors 5 minutes (the first goes to the next heat)

      Race 6 competitors 3 rounds or maximum 20 minutes

      (the first and secound goes to the next heat)

      (Duration & all rules can be extended during the competition by the organizer if necessary)

       

      4.3 Beginning of the heats

      There will be a yellow "1 minute to go" flag. That flag will go up with one acoustic signal. The heat will be started with one acoustic signal and the green flag will go up.

      4.4 End of the heats

      The end of the heat will be announced by one acoustic signal and the green flag will go down.

      4.5 Interruption or break off a heat

      Will be announced by three acoustic signals and the red and white flag will go up.

      5. Performance Area

      5.1 Freestyle Area

      The performance area for the freestyle competition is marked with 4 buoys. All competitors, who are not in the heat have to leave the performance area. Not acting competitors inside the performance area will be disqualified. Performance outside the area will be judged as long as it’s seen by the judges.

      5.2 Race Area

      The race area will be around three buoys. The race buoys are shown on the notice board. Not acting competitors inside thise area will be disqualified.

       

       

      6. Roules of Way of Right

      All competitors have to behave in a fair way and shall not obstruct or endanger any other competitor. Competitors in front and competitors, who are coming shorewards have the right of way. By crossing and passing a other pilot the upwind competitor has to take his kite up and the downwind competitor has to take his kite down. Failing to comply to these rules will result in immediate disqualification. In case of obstruction with the result of damaged equipment, the heat will be repeated without the offender. In this case, the heat will be interrupted with three acoustic signals and the red and white flag will go up. The decision will be made by the jury and the event director.
