Tom Wurster called about 15 minutes ago. He and Liga Auzins found a
BLACKPOLL WARBLER at Cerro Coso Community College in Ridgecrest. This
bird was associated with the pine groves and vinca ground cover at
the back of the sculpture park toward the uphill end.
This late morning Cal Yorke called to say he saw and heard calling
vociferously an EVENING GROSBEAK at Cerro Coso Community College.
This bird was seen at the top of a very tall, slim cottonwood/poplar
tree just above the sculpture park in the direction of the large
parking lot for the classroom building. This small grove of trees is
right next to the one way exit road from that parking lot.
Despite searches by a number of birders, the HARRIS'S SPARROW at
Desert Memorial Park (cemetery) in Ridgecrest has NOT been seen for
