Tidbits: FOFs, WWDOs, etc.
- BOBA (Bob Barnes), ENCA (Encar Card), FOF (First of Fall)
FOF - The flock of 21 COMMON MERGANSERS (no adult males) was observed
on Kern River County Park's Lake Ming at the edge of Bakersfield the
early morning of 9/4/12-BOBA-are thought to be a Kern Co. FOF.
Two WHITE-WINGED DOVE (species first detected at this location this
year on 5/2/12) were observed continuing 9/5/12 at a private suburban
residence near the west edge of Ridgecrest-ENCA.
FOF - A RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH calling form a pine tree off the
junction of Lake and Levee in Hart Memorial Park at the edge of
Bakersfield on the morning of 9/4/12-BOBA is thought to be a Hart
FOF - A WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW which showed up in the backyard of a
private suburban residence near the west edge of Ridgecrest was both
observed visually and heard singing 9/6/12-ENCA-is thought to be a
Kern Co. FOF..
A BLUE GROSBEAK was just off the east entrance to Hart Park on 9/4/12-BOBA.
