The South Fork Kern River Least Flycatcher was seen this morning between 6 and 9 AM. It was singing loudly and continuously during that period. This is the third day it was seen. Yesterday the location was marked by Bob Barnes with blue flagging so it is quite easy to locate. Bob's directions follow. Sierra Way is the road that runs along the east side of Lake Isabella between Weldon and Kernville. The Sierra Way Bridge is about 1 mile north of Hwy 178. Follow the referenced trail along the edge of the forest about 1/4 mi. until the fence makes a 90 degree turn to the right (Migrant Corner). Continue east along the fence line (bordering the forest) another 300 meters to the blue flagging.

... on the Kern River Preserve east of Migrant Corner 300
meters ... accessed by trail from the northeast side of the Sierra Way Bridge.

The location of the LEFL is between Brown-headed Cowbird point count stops
      36 &
35 (white flagging with "BHCO 36" to the west and "BCHO 35" to the east)
      and is
marked by BLUE flagging (LEFL) attached to the barbed wire fence separating
      the
forest on the south from the meadow on the west. The flagging is attached to
the fence between the 63rd and 64th metal fence post east of the east end of
the trail at Migrant Corner where there is a break in the fence at the start
      (west end) of the meadow.
