Canebrake Ecological Reserve (off the north side of Hwy. 178, 5 miles
east of Onyx in the South Fork Valley)
Observers: Bob Barnes, Carlie Henneman, Justin Schuetz

Carlie, Justin, and I visited the Canebrake Ecological Reserve (CER)
this morning to re-flag 32 points for avian point counts to be
conducted the first week of May, June, and July. The species and
numbers listed below cover the "Upper Ranch" portion of the CER where
the Public Access Trail is found. It was a very "birdy" morning, the
best for me this spring. I am hopeful today's birding is a precursor
to the height of spring migration late April through mid-May.
Regardless, it was a very enjoyable morning of birding.
