This morning there was a flock of at least 87 (actual count) Pinyon Jays
foraging in mixed gray pine woodland and open sagebrush country 2.5 miles
up Fay Ranch Road (north off Hwy. 178) in the South Fork (Kern) Valley.
Saturday there was a Winter Wren in the tangle of vegetation in the
cottonwood/willow riparian forest 100 yards/meters along the Prince Trail
leading west from the Kern River Preserve's entrance road.
