Tips and Humor From Kaye....
Kaye meets many people and sees many things while she travels. She always comes back with a couple of humorous stories to tell. Here is one of them.
Since You're Not Busy....
One of my staff got sick while working at our booth at the International Quilt Festival in Houston. She was really dizzy and lost vision in one eye. The diagnosis from the doctor at the hospital was a migraine.
The paramedics arrived and were treating her. I was holding her hand, trying to calm her down, when a quilter reached around the paramedic and under my arm to ask if I would autograph her book since I wasn't doing anything.
Throw Mama From The Train....
The European trains are great, but they don't allow much time to enter and exit. I had my crutches, wheelchair and two suitcases. Finally, we had a system; my two friends would throw the wheelchair, crutches, and our suitcases out while I got myself out of the door.
DVD of the Week....
Regular price for the DVD is $12.00,
but this week, only $5.00!

If you cook, these are pot holders; if you don't cook, they are kitchen quilts.
A pinwheel quilt block is made from four rectangle squares. make two different pot holders with plain backs, or use one of the potholders for the front and one for the back.
The segments in each of the blocks are made the same, but the sewing steps are different.
More On Buttons....
Another good way to remember men's and women's button placket placement is to think of when you are riding in the car with your husband or boyfriend driving. You should be able to see into each other's shirts....Lynette
And why are women's buttons placed opposite to men's?
One story goes that when garments with buttons were first introduced, only wealthy women could afford to have them. These women did not dress themselves, but were aided by servants. the buttons and buttonholes were positioned for the speed of the servant who was doing the buttoning.

This foot was made for walking, but not on my machine.
It turns out the weirdest quilting, that I have ever seen!
It sews along quite nicely, I stop holding my breath.
Then it does a little dance step and scares me half to death!
I see a section of stitches, too small for ripping out.
Then a leap and then a skip--what is this all about?
A seam on top? The batting? Am I doing something wrong?
I didn't dream that machine quilting, would ever take this long.
The answer's out there somewhere, I'll seek till I understand,
But until I get it sorted out, I just must quilt by hand!
