SCI CSR initiatives in alliance with TISS: Annual Evaluation Report,
Executive Summary: SCI has carried out its CSR initiatives in
collaboration with four civil society organizations during 2010-11.
While, two of these initiatives aimed at providing health services to poor
women and adult females who live in most backward area i.e. M-east
ward in Mumbai, other two projects facilitated balwadi education for
children belonging to the age group of 3-6 in the same area. So far SCI's
collaboration with NGOs: SMS, PATH, GBGBA, and FPAI has been
turned out be extremely successful in terms of satisfactory achievements
The initiatives proved economically viable and as a social
intervention, they demonstrated to be noteworthy and created a sense of
benchmark for any further approach. With a small budget allocation,
these social interventions proved to have created a large social impact by
covering huge population. Interactions with beneficiaries confirm our
premise that interventions of this nature have higher social impact in the
life of poor urban slum inhabitants.
