      The Centre released Rs. 142684.25 lakh during 2006-07 (upto 13.3.07) for providing nutritional support to the children under Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Scheme.  Under the Scheme the Centre provides financial support to the States up to 50% of the financial norms or to support 50% of the expenditure incurred by them on supplementary nutrition, whichever is less.

                  Currently nutritional support under the ICDS is being provided to about 543.43 lakh children through a network of about 7.81 lakh Anganwadi centres.
