    Happy Joy of Giving Week!

Most of you might know about Seva Mela and many of you have participated in the past years.

We need your active participation in the mela and in spreading about the mela to your own circle of friends, relatives, organizations and others.

Here is a short introduction about the event to those who have not participated earlier.

The purpose of SevaMela, a fully charity event under the banner of Joy of Giving Week, is to connect People with Social Causes and NGOs that work in remote corners to a central place under one umbrella and give them an opportunity to put up displays, explain what they do, sell what they produce, engage interested public into understanding their needs and challenges. To make the whole event interesting, a number of games, quizzes, entertainment programs like music, dance, drama, food festival, etc are all held.
Organizations small and big are participating in this Mela. One would meet with a destitute home for women (literally discarded women are cleaned out of the grime they had collected over several days lying on the roadside, cared for, given food, shelter, medical help and solace),  schools for mentally challenged children, an organization that bring children out of child labour and rehabilitate them, a shelter home for street children, an organization dedicated to providing free and confidential counselling to anyone that walks into their centre, an organization that collects old clothes and reaches to the needy and in that process gives employment and livelihood to several people in trying to make use of every shred of cloth that is given, an organization that accepts waste and uses the money generated out of the waste into educating rag-pickers, the stories are many more. We expect close to 100 NGOs to participate in the mela this time.
We encourage visitors to bring provisions like rice and dal, old clothes, old paper and rather anything that the visitor would like to give away. They could decide to donate either specifically to any NGO that they select at the mela or at the general pool.
The Mela is scheduled to be held under the banner of Joy of Giving Week. The Joy of Giving Week is India's "festival of giving"! Launched in 2009, the festival is celebrated every year, in the week including Gandhi Jayanti, i.e., October 2 through October 8, and brings together Indians from all walks of life, to celebrate "giving.
The event is scheduled on October 5 and 6 at Hitex Entrance Plaza and timings are from 10 AM to 8 PM.

UCDS or in short Yousee (yousee.in) is conducting this event with the support of United Way Hyderabad.

Please share this with all your friends and invite as many as possible for the event.

    Thanks and Best regards
