Just how would you use it? As a way to know where teams are ?? You
would need only one set of maps for the computer at net control, right ??
There is a way that you can import maps from, for example, MS STREETS AND
TRIPS, or DELORME's STREET ATLAS into Win APRS. It is not trivial, but it
can be done. You import them as .jpg or bitmap files after you export
them from the mapping software. I did it for my laptop for the TULIP TIME
Parade route. I have a set up for tracking the lead car in the Satuday
parade. Works like a charm. However, right now, when the car is at 8th
street and Central Ave it appears to be inside the Bank. The parameters
for the import need some tweeking. But we are getting pretty detailed when
one has such a small area to cover.
