To the Holland Amateur Radio Club:

November of 2002 I made my first trip to Holland to see about holding a
state convention. Almost 1 year later with all your hard work it is
      now over.

I wanted to let the group know how much I appreciated your taking on
the challenge. Every one in your group did such an outstanding job. It
was VERY impressive. I heard many good comments from a lot of people
regarding how outstanding the school was, and how impressed they were
with the MANY served agencies that attended the swap.

A few comments that stuck in my mind that I wanted to be sure to pass on
to you came from a group in Kalamazoo that I was chatting with. I was
told that they were truly impressed that you had emergency management
and such a variety of vendors and agencies you had at the swap.

Another comment that stuck in my mind was from Rosalie White, who
informed me that she has attended many conventions but never quite one
like this. She stated that many clubs do conventions on a yearly basis,
and although many of the members take on different jobs each year, they
still keep making the same errors at their conventions. She went on to
tell me that she couldn't find any errors at this convention and felt
this was the best organized, planned convention that she had ever
attended. She loved the dog that talked and when the helicopter was to
take off, she asked me if we could go watch. She took time out from the
ARRL table to make sure she watched the liftoff of the helicopter. She
went on to state she had never seen such a thing at a swap before and
thought it was fantastic. I then proceeded to take a walk with her
outdoors to take in the many activities that were taking place outside.
I have to tell you she truly was impressed.

As I sit typing this letter to you this morning my phone just rang. It
was the Ohio and Kentucky Section managers. They were chatting on
their way home this morning about what a great convention we had here in
Michigan and how impressed they were by everything and wanted to be sure
      to let me know this.

I want to be sure to send another thanks and that is to Tom Vandermel
KB8VEE for his role in this as well. Tom I know did many things on both
the swap and banquet to help out.

You are one fantastic group and should be proud of the job that you
accomplished. There was a lot of team work involved and I have to tell
you that your organization knows the meaning of that word.

My SINCERE thanks to EVERY ONE for all your work and efforts and I hope
some day I will make it back to Holland for another convention in the
      future...

        To all Holland Amateurs,
Why is it, every time I get around Holland, I get lost????
I can get myself to Tennessee quite well all by myself, but
        Holland...????
My latest adventure in the area brought me through Hudsonville (so
that's what that town looks like:) and downtown Zeeland. My 3-year-
old granddaughter was in the back seat, reminding me that "We are
        lost Grandma".
A very kind and helpful local ham there managed to get me to my
        destination in Holland.
(Must I mention, this wasn't the first time)
Thank goodness, when I call out for help on the Holland repeater,
someone is always there to lend a hand! What a great bunch of people
        and thank you so much!

Thanks to all that said they would help getting the work stations, to the HARC T&T center. John (WD8BWK) used his pick-up and with a little swet we got them there safe and sound. I think they will work out just fine for the construction room. We now need some one to help make a frame of some sort to mount them on. We are getting some nice test equipment and this is going to be a great asset for the club members...
          Thanks
          Merry Christmas

Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes for my family over the
Christmas holiday. The services for my uncle were a wonderful
testament to his life and his family and friends. Yes there were many
tears of grief, but also a lot of laughter and joy remembering a man
who meant so much to so many.
Again, thank you all for your support. And please keep my family in
your prayers, as there are other issues that our family will be heading
              into in the near future.

I would also like to say thanks to those who have been elected to a office this year, THANKS for stepping up to contine to make HARC a great place to come. I know we are all busy but it does not take a lot of time to help. As we go into the new year with a new board and new ideas I would like to ask every one to support and help in any way, after all its you who make it club.

Thanks to every one who asked about my wife, she is ok but she does get weaker and we don’t know what will happen next. This is the reason I can not serve this year.

                                Hi Alek,

RE: The Walk to End Alzheimers.  Saturday, AM, 25 Aug 2012.

We will meet for the Alzheimers Walk at Kollen Park in Holland.  The park's main entrance is at the intersection of Van Raalte Avenue and West 10th St.

I would like to meet the radio operators at 9:30 AM to assign positions.  The walk will start about 10:00 AM (last year it was several minutes late).

I will have maps of the walk route available.

I will be down by the picnic gazebo, where all the registration activity is for the walk.  I will be monitoring the 06; so, just give me a call if you can't find me.

The walk lasts about an hour to an hour and a half, depending on the slowest walkers.

We will be using the Holland repeater at 147.060 Mhz, and PL of 94.8Hz

This is a good event for those that are new to this.  The walk is not real long and it's easy and usually uneventful.

I'll be looking for you all.

                                  73, Phil, K8PVH

I may have missed it, but where are we meeting.  What time.  And what frequencies will we be using.

Just 2 or 3 more people and we will be in fine shape.

I have attached the map of the walk route, which is the same as last year.
