      Hello,

I just got off the telephone with Ed Moody, N3ED, of Clarks Summit. About
two years ago, a gentleman bought a house near or next door to the house
      owned
by Ed and his wife. Ed's wife is actually the real estate agent that
represented the seller at that time.

Recently, the new neighbor complained to the Borough of Clarks Summit about
Ed's 65-foot ham tower, claiming it is an eyesore. The tower was not only on

Ed's property at the time the neighbor bought his home but has also been up
for about 11 years. The Borough Council sent the complaint to the Borough
      Planning Commission.

Too much time has passed for Ed to have the permit for the tower or a copy
of it still. He does not have a canceled check, either. The Borough records
are no better. Ed cannot prove he obtained a permit for the tower. The
Borough cannot prove he did not.

Ed is going before the Planning Commission next Tuesday, Patriot Day, Sept.
11, at 7 p.m. in the Borough Building on State Street. Though we might not
want to inundate the government building with hams, it would be helpful if
several Amateurs, especially those living in Clarks Summit and the
      surrounding
communities, to attend as a show of support. If there is public discussion
allowed, you might plan to talk. Often, these meetings are very cut and dry,

and those who attend can only be spectators; otherwise, the meetings of
      local
      government would be interminable.

      Please help if you can.

      73,

      Ray, WX3A
