My favourite genres of music include rock, classical, jazz and world. My favourite artists are The Beatles, Ravi & Anoushka Shankar, Norah Jones, Adele, Carla Brunei, Harry Manx & Israel Kamakawiwoole, Georgia Gibbs, Andre Rieu. I love the sitar and would love to own and know how to play it!! I dislike country music big time though as it is poorly played and the lyrics predominately negative and mournful.

I do volunteer work with Hamilton community House, where I compile admissions packs for our local hospital. I am also on the Committee of Management (secretary). I used to volunteer with Hamilton's Ansett Museum. My favourite volunteer job was with a local primary school.

I collect stamps, phone cards. I collect stamps from everywhere, but am especially interested particulary in Indian stamps. I also collect elephant figurines.

Other hobbies I have are visiting cemeteries (particulary old ones, they have more charchter than lawn cemeteries). I am fascinated with the history of the Indian Hawkers who used to travel the country side, many years ago. There is a marker dedicated to a Hawker in my local cemetery and I am interested in the location of more. I am also interested in the lives of the men these markers are dedicated to.

I adore Indian cuisine like Samosas and Prawn Biryani. My faveourite authors are Julie Ellis and Victoria Holt. I also like ELEPHANTS, Pooh Bear, trains, sunflowers, op shopping and pink clothes. I love anything Bollywood.

Things I dislike are snobby people, shop assistants who call everybody "darling", the cricket (too boring). I also think upturned collars are tacky and make me want to yell "turn your collar down country bumpkin".
