Group Description

Does the proposed permanent AEL&P rate hike bother you? Are you willing to do something about it? JPPP is now an official party in the case, as of September 27, 2010. We are now in the discovery phase and working to adequately develop specific legal issues, requests for documentation from AEL&P, and seek out experts for the Hearing in May 2011. This is a fairly aggressive procedural schedule. There are plenty of ways to get involved!

You can review the tariff filing and document filings to date on the Regulatory Commission of Alaska's website.

The people of Juneau protested in 2008 and the rates came down. Avalanche repair schedules became more reasonable. JPPP does not believe a permanent 24% rate hike is just or reasonable.

This page is an invitation to those who want to show their support in keeping our energy bills at fair market rates, so JPPP can contact you for meetings etc, as well as a place for people to share their thoughts and feelings about this issue. [Dissenters need not respond. No spam please - this is a non-profit org run by volunteers.]

We invite you to join us as we work together in the interest of our community and fellow Alaskans. You are welcome to join our resistance through civil disobedience, demonstrations, ballot initiative(s), legislative lobbying where laws and regulations need change or updating, exploration of litigation when necessary, and other avenues of citizen activism. We're exploring all options. Constructive suggestions are welcome and encouraged.

You can also check out the sample October calendar, links, and files (left panel on page) for additional information and to see what JPPP is doing.
