Re: [John Muir Trail] Problem with pictures in Daily Digests - experiment with different image forms - experiment with attached PDF [1 Attachment]
I got all the pictures except the TIFF files embedded in the e-mail, as well as the attachment! It must be like you said: a problem with the Daily Digest. I checked the group site again though, and still no pictures there, although the attachment was there(?!). I guess that doesn't really matter since everyone seems to be getting the pictures in the e-mail.

BUG REPORT: Apparently readers who get messages from the group as Daily Digests can't see the pictures. If you want to see the pictures, you could change your settings to get individual e-mails, or you could just live with the lack of pictures (they didn't work before I made the changes, so at least the changes have not made you worse off.)
ATTACHED FILE TEST: I tried to use Gmail to attach a file to this e-mail. I will be surprised if it works, but I thought I'd try. It's a PDF file with a 4-page chart showing elevations along the JMT.
ADDITIONAL TEST: I'm curious to see what image formats Yahoo supports. I've included below the same picture in several formats. I'm curious who gets some and who gets all of the formats. If you get 4 identical pictures, you are getting all that I think I'm sending (there are 2 more but I don't think they will send successfully due to Gmail limitations) . Please reply to report how many you see (if you know how, please respond privately -- if everyone responds publicly, were going to have a very crowded thread). I'll report back on results.
The above formats all seem to be supported by my Gmail for sending, but I need to hear from you whether Yahoo has passed them thru.
My Gmail appears not to support the insertion of TIFF files into e-mail, but I tried anyway - I assume that the following will NOT appear. But tell me if they do.
TIFF below (no compression) - I don't think it works but problem is probably with Gmail before it got to Yahoo
TIFF below (with compression) - I don't think it works but problem is probably with Gmail before it got to Yahoo
