Anyone know the odds of a walk-in permit for 4 people in late July? We
thru-hiked the JMT last year on Aug 8 with 2 people and were lucky
enough to get an online permit reservation.

The plan would be to show up on the YARTS shuttle around 11am in
Yosemite on wednesday July 29 and try for a same day permit or next
day walk in. With three trailhead options (HI to LYV, HI to Sunrise,
GP to LYV) there are 30 total walk in spots!

Not sure if we would be allowed to camp in the backpackers campground
if we were not able to get a permit until the 30th for a 31st start
      though!
