      Several options from Lone Pine:

Commercial Shuttle Services from Bishop: (spendy)
Bob Ennis - Mt Whitney Shuttle Service 760-876-1915
      High Sierra Transportation 760-872-1111

      Public Transportation:
East Sierra Transit Agency (ESTA) - formerly the CREST bus system, now encompasses all local bus services in Inyo and Mono counties. Call 800-922-1930 or 760-872-1901 for schedules and details. http://countyofinyo.org/transit/route,%20schedule%20&%20fares.htm

CREST Buses run between Reno airport and Bishop on Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Friday. Reservations strongly suggested. Another CREST bus runs between Ridgecrest and Mammoth Lakes on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

There is also a weekday commuter service M-F between Bishop and Mammoth Lakes and a local bus running 3X daily (no weekends) between Lone Pine, Independence, and Bishop. All run by ESTA.

From Reno, you can fly to L.A.

There is also a KERN Regional Transit bus from Ridgecrest to Mojave.
      http://www.co.kern.ca.us/roads/kernregionaltransit.asp
From there, you can get another bus into Bakersfield and take Amtrak, Greyhound, or fly to L.A.
