Re: [John Muir Trail] BA FC UL2

I dumped my Tarptent Contrail because I got soaked twice from condensation on the inside. I vented it and etc and am the only person who has had a problem but twice in critical situations is too much for me. I think the top of the Lightheart solo and Solong6 are single wall. Do you ever have any problems with condensation on the top part?
Joe, I have a Lightheart solo regular length and am very happy with it. Prior to this tent, I had a BA Seedhouse SL1 which was also a good tent except I do not like the front entry. I find it much easier to get in and out of the Lightheart tent. I also find it very quick and easy to set up. BA does have great customer service and I expect Lightheart would also. I am 5'-6" and if I was only a couple of inches taller I would probably want the extra length of the SoLong.

Lightheart gear. I never heard of them either but Barbara has one and likes it and she had the BA FC UL2 or 1. There's always one more tent to look at or pot or pack or bag or ...
Don't know about the SoLong6 (who makes that one?), but I do like my BA FC UL2!
Lots of room for the weight.
thanks for the input. It sounds like the good conservative choice except now Barbara has me haring off after the SoLong6. Luckily I'm not going till July.
Joe, I'm about a quarter of an inch shy of 6 ft and I've been using an BA FC1 for about 2 years. I even took it on the JMT in 2011. It was fine.
