Magnitude 2.7 earthquake felt in Yosemite Valley
- I always wonder about what it would be like (and don't want to firsthand know) being on the JMT during an earthquake.

Centered 10 miles east-southeast of Yosemite Village at a depth of 17 miles, the magnitude 2.7 earthquake vibrated the ground and produced a low, short rumble. Deep, small magnitude earthquakes like this are relatively common in the Sierra Nevada and are probably associated with movement of magma at depth.
