Re: [John Muir Trail] Fwd: Video from Gerry's 7 Day JMT full thru hike with Andrew Skurka
- John, This one is tough to explain to many people. I think there are a couple of reasons some people like to hike, one to experience the outdoors, and two, to have some kind of physical challange for themselves, whether it's 5 miles a day or 35 miles a day. I know for me, I DO love the scenery, but it is more about what I can push my body to do. I is a cool sense of accomplishment when you can overcome the defeatist thoughts of your own mind to accomplish an extreme physical challange that for some people, it's in our DNA and you can't really explain it any other way. Yeah, it probably doesn't look like fun to some, but I'm sure he was in his element!
