Online Journal: JMT southbound 19 July - 13 Aug 2011
- Here is a link to my online journal from this summer's hike...
It includes more images than the slideshow I posted a few weeks ago as well as a text entry for each day.
- Vegematic,Very nice job (might have to check out weebly.com as well) I particularly love your opening page of the back side of whitney, shot from little, "no name" lake there on Big Horn Plateau.I don't know how many times I've either just blitzed by that lake or spent only enough time to snack and get water, but I finally slowed down enough the past few years to stop and spend the night there, rather than busting out the last bits of energy to hustle all the way to Guitar. It's also one of those places I've kind of dubbed, "the saddest place on the JMT" if only because it's just so absolutely wonderful in its vistas (walk up the hill!) and it's just about the end of the trip . . . it's hard for me to sit still in any other place past Bighorn, as you're just so close to being finished, but the plateau, fine place to spend the night and say goodbye––Just remember to not camp on the meadow grass as it sort of magically calls to the rangers and before you know it, there's one there, telling you to move your camp.BOBhttp://www.summitpost.org/plans/view_activity.php?post_id=6480
