Re: [John Muir Trail] gratitude
- Sorry Krishna,
We are not bringing the SPOT with us but decided on a renting a satellite phone instead. Will be bringing a cell phone so I might be able to post progress when in a coverage area.Would love to provide up-to-date and personal data about snow, trail and river conditions.

See you at VVR and don’t forget to leave the M&Ms on the trail for me to follow. Hope the GPS works.
I will be leaving today, traveling to YV and hiking in on 7/5.
I am so grateful for all who shared their insights, advice, experience, and humor with me as I did my planning for this trip. Many thanks to all, but especially:Roleigh, Ned, John D. John C. Joe Mc., Don, Kim, Ed R., Bob S., Karapani, Emily Y, and Barb (if I forgot someone sorry). Your willingness to help others and to volunteer your time makes this on-line community so worthwhile to belong to. I feel so much better prepared!
I will be unscribing to the website (we had over 1,000 posts last month!) while I am away because of the sheer volume, but will come back after my trip to share anything that might help.
Happy trails to all of you this summer on the JMT!
