Don't go to the Valley. If the TM Wilderness Station is closed, go to the Big Oak Flat entrance station. It's about 20 mins closer the Valley Visitor Center

I suggest that you review the YARTS schedule again. The Bus from Tuolumne to the Valley leaves the TM Store at 10:15 a.m. and at 10:20 from the TM visitors

The idea of using Copper Creek as a tie in to the JMT is pretty smart. Permits are easier to get and it does avoid some passes, but it also avoids some of the

Copper Creek entrance is tough. Just getting near Grouse Lake took the first day for me, and even then I stayed at the tarn just below (had it to myself).
