      All,

Yes, yes, I know that I said the official release date of Infoquake was July 11, 2006. But Amazon.com , in its infinite wisdom, has already decided to start shipping out copies. I haven't heard whether the other online booksellers are shipping yet — or whether the actual brick-and-mortar bookstores have stocked their copies yet — but you can bet that Infoquake will be available in all these places within the next week to two weeks.

Here are links to four of the online outlets selling the book:

Some more news about the book that has cropped up in the past couple weeks:

      • John Scalzi Interviews Me on AOL
Hugo and Campbell Award nominee John Scalzi (author of Old Man's War and The Ghost Brigades) interviewed me this week about the inspiration for Infoquake, the pitfalls of worldbuilding, what bears have to do with business, and how good a job Adam Smith did at predicting the future.
      • Rick Kleffel's Full Review: Infoquake a "Futuristic Funhouse Mirror"
Rick Kleffel of The Agony Column has written a glowing full review of Infoquake that you just have to read to believe. "Infoquake is a very funny and insightful novel of modern economics through a futuristic funhouse mirror.... a very solid and satisfying read, a meat and potatoes meal of corporate skullduggery, lies, cheats, and satisfying successes.... It's the kind of book that deserves to be passed quietly from cubicle to cubicle in tech companies around the nation and indeed around the world."
      • Panel Appearances at Readercon July 7
As promised, I will be on two panels for next weekend's ReaderCon convention in Burlington, Massachusetts. Both of the panels I'm slated for are on the evening of July 7th. For more details about the con and the schedule, see the ReaderCon website.

More news to come next week, including additional content and additional interviews, as well as some more in-depth posts on my blog discussing what this Infoquake book is all about anyway.

      Towards Perfection,

      David Louis Edelman
